| Roomacoustical measurements | |||||
| In the planning of new roomacoustical
environments for existing rooms one has first to record the roomacoustical
status to be modified.
Roomacoustical measurements are carried out in order to ascertain the acoustical
quality of rooms.
The parameters measured are, among others: - Reverberation time - STI, RASTI, Alcons, measure of definition C 50, as measures of speech intelligibility - Measure of strength G and center time as measures for level distribution - Measure of clarity C80, stage measure STI and bass ratio as measures for music transmission, and others. The measurements allow to draw conclusions regarding the existence of perturbing echoes and their elimination. By the same token they serve for assessing the effectiveness of previously taken measures. The values obtained can be used as a basis for the electroacoustical simulation program EASE. After conclusion of planning a control measurement is analogously carried out. Example of roomacoustical measurements >>> Measuring equipment: - PC-supported measuring system EASERA - Sound level meter CEL - Goldline DSP 30 with STIPa module - Dodecahedron test loudspeaker |
