From 1975 on he worked in the Institute for Cultural Buildings in the
GDR which was in charge of the overall planning of all important theaters,
concert halls and other cultural buildings in the GDR, but was also involved
as a responsible consultant in several projects abroad. In 1990 he founded the Engineering Office Acoustic Design Ahnert with at first only two colleagues at the site of the former Institute. In January 1993 the Office moved to new rooms in the Berliner Innovations- und Gründerzentrum (Berlin Innovation and Founders' Center) - BIG - which had just established in an abandoned industrial areal of the AEG in the Municipal District of Wedding. |

Lecturer with a thesis titled "Manipulation of Acoustic Sound Fields".
Since 1993 Dr. Ahnert has been Professor at the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen (Academy for Film and Television) in Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 1997 Dr. Ahnert became a shareholder of GCA Ingenieure AG, a Munich-based Association of Engineering Offices. In 1999 fondation of a branch office of ADA in Cairo/Egypt was initiated. This office became fully operable in 2003. In 2000 the software developing company SDA Software Design Ahnert GmbH was founded jointly with Stefan Feistel. Since 2002 the new joint company seat has been in Berlin-Pankow in the Arkona street. |

For advancing science and investigation, the non-profit ADA Foundation gGmbH was founded in 2003. This foundation will supply the company software EASE at low price to universities and colleges. Dr. Ahnert is coauthor of the textbook "Beschallungstechnik - Grundlagen und Praxis" (Sound Reinforcement Engineering - Foundations and Practice) S. Hirzel Verlag Stuttgart, published in 1993; revised editions and translations of this work were published in English in 2000, in Chinese in 2002 and in Russian in 2003. An Arabic edition is actually in preparation. Development of the roomacoustical and electroacoustical simulation program

started already at the beginning of the 80s. |
